DJ CLASSES
DJ 151: PC DJ’ing I
Many DJs are not lugging their records and CDs to gigs but
are simply bringing a laptop loaded with all of their
favorite MP3s. In this introductory course we will prime
you for using MP3 DJ’ing products such as Serato Scratch
Live. Learn the basics of using your laptop as your music
library and DJ’ing tool. Topics include digital music,
hardware and software, ripping MP3s, introduction to Serato
Scratch Live, and more.

DJ 111: Vinyl DJ’ing I
This introductory course is for students who want to focus
exclusively on mixing with records and improve their vinyl
beat mixing skills. Topics to be covered include beat
mixing dance, pop, and hip-hop music. Students will be
involved with intense hands-on practice during class and
will be able to receive real-time feedback on their mixing
skills.

DJ 141: Mobile DJ’ing I
Want to turn your love for music and DJ’ing into a source
of additional income? Become an entrepreneur and find out
what it takes to become a mobile jock and entertain at
weddings, school and corporate events, and private parties.

startup, equipment, music, event management,
troubleshooting, and entertaining.

DJ 161: Hip-Hop DJ’ing I
(Elective course for the Certificate Program in Disc
Jockeying) This introductory course is dedicated to hip-hop
DJs where we’ll explore methods of mixing, scratching, and
blending in a hip-hop club atmosphere. Learn how to get
gigs, deal with promoters and club owners, and attain the
tools necessary to be a successful party DJ. Upon
completion, students will know the ins and outs of hip-hop
DJ’ing tricks, equipment, and music. FREE headphones

DJ 192: Remixing
Remixing songs is becoming a growing Niche in the music
field. This course will cover the basics of Remixing
popular songs using a mix of DJ’ing and Beat Making. It is
recommended to have taken one of our basic beat making or
DJ classes prior to this course. Students will create their
own remixes through blending songs together, and will also
get the chance to create their very own remix of todays
biggest artists from scratch!

DJ 201: DJ’ing II
This intermediate course builds upon the fundamentals
learned in DJ 101 and is designed to take those learned
skills to a more intermediate and professional level. We
will discuss set structure, and other DJ’ing techniques.
There will be increased focus on beat mixing and other
equipment-based tricks.

MUSIC PRODUCTION
Beat Making 101
This introductory course is for students who want to focus
on producing hip-hop/pop/dance/r&b. Topics to be
covered include a brief history of Music production,
overview of basic equipment , and a insight as to what it
takes to be a successful beat maker. Students will be
involved with intense hands-on practice during class and
will be able to receive real-time feedback on their beat
making skills and improvement.

Beat Making 201
This intermediate course builds upon the fundamentals
learned in BM 101 and is designed to take those learned
skills to a more intermediate and professional level. We
will discuss Engineering, tips+tricks of computer based
recording, and learn the ins and outs of several pieces of
equpitment that are used by todays biggest producers. There
will be increased focus on hands on engineering, because
quality music is what sets apart the bedroom producer from
the Big Boys!
